Moonrise Bay Winery

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday! Please visit Susan's wonderful blog, A Southern Daydreamer, for a list of other participants.

~~~
For this week's Outdoor Wednesday, I'm sharing a little day trip from this past weekend. Since it does involve grapevines, and a large part of it is held outdoors, I figured it would work for Outdoor Wednesday.
This past weekend Mr. Maison and I went to an event at a North Carolina winery that is about 45 minutes away from where we live. It's a nice drive through the country, and we always have a great time at Moonrise Bay. They have events around five or six times a year, and we try to go when we can. During these events, there are wine tastings, lots of delicious food, and there is always some kind of entertainment.
You pass the vineyards on your way in...
A few years back, they added a beautiful indoor lodge room...
Here's the wine lineup for today's tastings...
This table held sandwiches, pickles, brownies, and sangria. Yum!
This guy was playing some great jazz on the saxophone...
The owners, Oakie and Kate, looking over some of the artwork...
I love this sign!
  1. Tammy, thanks for taking us along with you on this trip! Love that sign, too. I enjoy the fact that there are now wineries in the South whereas I don't remember any growing up. Glad you had fun at the tasting.
    I just wanted to tell you that I think Lucy is the cutest thing ever! I have a friend who had a pug and loved him more than any dog he ever had. I think they are cute as can be!
    Happy Outdoor Wednesday...
    XO,
    Sheila :-)
  15. Hi Tammy,
    What a fun outing. We have some fun wineries by us in Temecula Ca. but I have not been wine tasting. Imagine that. Your day looked lovely and there is nothing like a glass of wine and a saxophonist. My favorite. Thanks for sharing.
  18. This is fantastic stuff. I love going on wine tours and tasting events, though I don't get to do that as much. I'm planning a girls trip to our local vineyard in Williamsburg, VA. It will be fun I'm sure. Thanks for the great photos and that little sign is perfect.
  19. What a charming way to spend a pleasant afternoon and try a few different varieties of wine in the process. When I lived in Oregon my husband and I went on a few wine tours also, but we had to make sure one of was picked as the designated driver or we would never have made it home!
  28. Without wine you will not live!
    Love it!
    We go to Napa whenever we get the urge to wine taste. As a matter of fact the half barrels I have in today's post are from there!
    Perhaps I should add that information to my post.
