For this week's Outdoor Wednesday, I'm sharing a little day trip from this past weekend. Since it does involve grapevines, and a large part of it is held outdoors, I figured it would work for Outdoor Wednesday.
This past weekend Mr. Maison and I went to an event at a North Carolina winery that is about 45 minutes away from where we live. It's a nice drive through the country, and we always have a great time at Moonrise Bay. They have events around five or six times a year, and we try to go when we can. During these events, there are wine tastings, lots of delicious food, and there is always some kind of entertainment.
Tammy, thanks for taking us along with you on this trip! Love that sign, too. I enjoy the fact that there are now wineries in the South whereas I don't remember any growing up. Glad you had fun at the tasting.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to tell you that I think Lucy is the cutest thing ever! I have a friend who had a pug and loved him more than any dog he ever had. I think they are cute as can be!
Happy Outdoor Wednesday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Happy Outdoor Wednesday Tammy! Looks like a wonderful day! I hope you brought a few bottles home! Thanks for sharing your photos.~ Susan
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun Outdoor Wednesday post! Thank you! A couple weeks ago we went to several wineries...I tried to make a decent post about it. You've given me ideas for future winery posts. http://cindykasten-keepingitsimple.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Great outdoor post! I love going to wineries, too. We go once a year to a large tasting and have so much fun. Our son has a hugh vineyard and sells grapes to a winery close by.

ReplyDeleteHi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun outing. We have some fun wineries by us in Temecula Ca. but I have not been wine tasting. Imagine that. Your day looked lovely and there is nothing like a glass of wine and a saxophonist. My favorite. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Tammy, what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, wine tasting, eating looking at all the art and those gorgeous views, happy Wednesday, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your tour at the winery. There are some popping up in TN also. I had no clue TN was a good location for vineyards.
ReplyDeleteGlenda
This is fantastic stuff. I love going on wine tours and tasting events, though I don't get to do that as much. I'm planning a girls trip to our local vineyard in Williamsburg, VA. It will be fun I'm sure. Thanks for the great photos and that little sign is perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming way to spend a pleasant afternoon and try a few different varieties of wine in the process. When I lived in Oregon my husband and I went on a few wine tours also, but we had to make sure one of was picked as the designated driver or we would never have made it home!

P.S. The house in your header reminds me of one of the ones in our "historic district". I'll need to drive by it and snap a pic to show you.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! We have enjoyed visitng the wineries in Napa Valley, California for the pure beauty of the places. Their gift shops are fantastic. Like Chandy I don't drink wine...just adore the wineries! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeth~♥
Without wine you will not live!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
We go to Napa whenever we get the urge to wine taste. As a matter of fact the half barrels I have in today's post are from there!
Perhaps I should add that information to my post.
What great photos. Thanks for taking us on the trip. I also love the sign, my mother is trying to convert us over to wine drinkers. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great time! I don't drink but I love to see the vineyards up in Napa and Sonoma Counties because they are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Outdoor Wednesday!

Oh what a great trip. I've been to the wine country in Sonoma several times, and always such a wonder trip. Thanks for joining our Cloche Party. It is scheduled for Fri. June 19th and Mr. Linky will be up on Thurs. June 18th by 8pm. Some of the ladies are also including their apothecary jars they decorate. So feel free to include both if you want. Thanks again. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day trip! I love a good glass of wine and good conversation. That was a great sign and what a great photo of the grapevines :) I can't wait for wine tasting to start up this year.
