Pea Soup

For this week’s Tablescape Thursday I did a trayscape for two. Since it involves food, I’m linking to Foodie Friday, also.

I’ve gotten so much use out of this blue wicker tray that I found last year at Big Lots. It’s just perfect for doing small ‘scapes.

These cute covered soup bowls are from Horchow.

Saute diced onions, carrots and celery in olive oil. Then add water, a bag of split peas, salt and pepper. Cook for 30-45 minutes until soup starts to thicken up. I usually then add some diced potatoes and then cook until the potatoes are done. This is even better cooked with ham and/or a ham bone.

Be sure to visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch to see lots of pretty table settings around blogland.

For Foodie Friday visit Michael at Designs By Gollum. There are always so many yummy recipes to choose from.
