Porch & Patio Party 6/17

Welcome to the Porch & Patio party, hosted by Barb at Grits and Glamour. Please visit Barb's wonderful blog for lots of pretty porches.

We have been pretty water-logged here in Virginia Beach, but I did manage to snap some shots this past Sunday, when it was sunny. Here's my little front porch. I'd love to have an huge, old-timey porch, but this is what I've got for now...

We have a fairy door so that the wee folk can come in...

Barb, you'll notice that I used your idea of putting scrapbook stickers on a plain white vase. I've done this to two vases now, and I love it!

Found these beautiful tropical flowers today at Trader Joe's and just had to include them!

Come join me on the front porch for some iced tea...so refreshing in the summertime.

Summer Salad Saturdays

Welcome to Summer Salad Saturdays, hosted by Southern Whimsy. Please visit Southern Whimsy for lots of yummy salads.

~~~
I love any kind of salad, so I'm glad Southern Whimsy is graciously hosting this event through June. This week I made a salad of mixed greens, candied walnuts, red onion, and blueberries. I made my typical dijon vinagrette, which is just dijon mustard, balsalmic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
A salad, just perfect for dining outdoors...
Double Post: Outdoor Wednesday and Foodie Friday
This is a double post for Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer and Foodie Friday, hosted by Michael at Designs By Gollum. Please visit their blogs for other participants.
One of our favorite things to do in the summer is to go boating and pull up to a waterside restaurant to eat -- usually Maryland blue crabs. Yummers!
This guy is waving to all of you in blogland!
Here's a picture of our little 18 1/2 footer that I affectionately call "The Canoe." I call it that because you should see some of the boats that are stored at our marina. Yowsa! You could definitely live on a lot of them.
