Welcome to Foodie Friday! Please visit our hostess, Michael at Designs by Gollum, for lots of yummy food!
~~~
Since the theme this week is cakes, I thought I would make an easy ice cream cake. My mom got the recipe from her neighbor, Michelle.
Please excuse the grody pan I made this in! It's my meatloaf pan, and it doesn't look all that great, but since there's only three of us to eat this right now, I wanted to make it in a small pan.
Michelle's Ice Cream Cake
Ice cream sandwiches
bananas
strawberries
jar of fudge ice cream topping
jar of caramel ice cream topping
Cool Whip
maraschino cherries
Put a layer of ice cream sandwiches in your cake pan, then slice bananas and strawberries and put them in a layer on top of the ice cream sandwiches. Pour fudge topping over the bananas and strawberries and then pour the caramel topping over the chocolate. Place another layer of ice cream sandwiches on that and then top with Cool Whip and maraschino cherries.
This is right up my alley! I can't wait to make this. Do you cut up the ice cream bars or keep them whole?
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter what the pan is, Tammy, this looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteYummy! This is similar to a banana split cake that I've made for years, but the ice cream sandwiches are brilliant! Can't wait to try this. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love that! My kids are always asking if I can make one, but never just did. Maybe with this recipe, I will soon! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens...there is NO cooking involved?
